Meal time in a long-term care facility is about more than just eating. Food is a connection to our past, the smells and sounds of mealtime are just as important as taste. At Saint Vincent's, dining occurs on the units, served directly from a hot cart. The main meal of the day is the mid-day meal with a lighter fare for the supper hour. Breakfast is varied from a full meal of eggs, fruit and oatmeal, to just toast and coffee, depending on the resident's preference. A menu committee meets regularly to discuss concerns and provide to feedback to Nutrition Services.
Enjoying a meal with a resident can be arranged by contacting Nutrition Services in advance. Limited space may require dining in the resident's room or in the Windsor Room.
